The one I wanted is now archived

Post by Vern L. Equinox on Thu Mar 24, 2011 12:34 pm

I've been wanting a Breedlove Atlas Studio J350/CR-12 for over a year but it's had to wait because of other financial obligations. Well, I'll be in a position to buy one in May (pay raise). I looked online at Guit Center & it's not there anymore. I go on the Breedlove website & find it in the archive section. Sad Looks like it's gonna be ebay in May. That was THE one for me. I have the Breedlove Atlas C250/SM-12 & it's a fingerpicker's dream. With a lowered saddle & tuned to C you can churn away on this thing like a banjo. I just wanted a deeper, richer sound. A cedar top jumbo 12. I guess not enough people wanted one. Bummed out now & just had to vent.

well I got over it. if I can't find a leftover one in a couple of months I may think a little further down the road & maybe get a Focus 12 or even a Classic 12.

Yep, and the next one will probably make you completely forget about that J350.

"J350? Who said I was looking for a J350?" < grin >

Thanks! I haven't dropped in for awhile. I did get a new jumbo 12. Got a Rainsong JM3000. Very happy with it. Lots of volume & clarity fingerpicking or strumming hard. Very comfortable neck & the string spacing allows room to fingerpick. Still very attached to my Breedlove though so I'm keeping it. I've lowered the action on it for fingerpicking & tuned down it plays like butter. Ok for strumming with a very thin pick & plugged in.

Congrats, Vern. Next time you might want to check the new Breedlove Passport series; I tried one at GC, & at $300, it compares favorably to the $1100(?) American series equivalent.
