Good price on a Focus! Empty Good price on a Focus!

I've been watching the price on this Focus continually drop over the last few weeks. I do not believe that this is the same type pricing error that we all saw a few years ago. Looks like a close out to me. Anyways… If I didn’t already have one of these I’d be tempted…

I've heard samples of this guitar fingerpicked but can anyone comment on how it performs when rhythm strummed with a pick?

Welcome to TSS jotter! I have played a fair number of Breedlove's over the years but to my recollection none of them were Focus's...Focusii...hmmm what is the plural for Focus?

Not the best for strumming along inside a band but you can get by solo. Cedar gets cranky if pushed beyond somewhat gentle strumming. It can get muddy, loses articulation and becomes a droning sound when over driven. I have an example of it up on boxnet but that site isn't cooperating with me at the moment. I've had this Focus since '07 and while it is a very nice guitar I would not recommend it over a similar guitar with a spruce top as a general player.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a spruce top dreadnought so this might be a nice second addition. At this price it might be a good investment even if it isn't played everyday.

Absolutely. I truly enjoy this guitar and don't expect to be parting with it. I bought mine at a GC and paid just under $3k for it. They had another there at the time with different wood and I would have taken them both had a moment's sanity not entered the room at the time.

Would that be a synonym for "spouse"?

Focus strumming link. Hit the top right button on the first page to skip to the song. Boxnet has taken to putting ads on linked files for us dead beats who have free hosting with them. Anyway, I think you can hear the lack of sparkle from the Focus and it gets pushed back in the mix here. This song was me on the Focus and singing lead vocal. Another fellow contributed everything else including the mix down.

I'm curious. Did I miss something? The discounted price is 25% off list, right? As far as I know ALL dealers will sell most of their guitars at 25% off (there are a few exceptions, of course). Any more it seems like MSRP is just a starting point in negotiations and 25% is the first stop.

Am I all wet or did I just get off the boat?

At the time of the original post , it was more like $2 or $3000 off MSRP.
