Thanks MS. Congrats on the future Gibson Oval A. IMHO those are THE coolest mandos. The oval Fs are pretty cool too and maybe a little more "upscale" but the oval As are the best.

Hi TB/FP. I have to say that I don't recall the Tom Bombadil character but I read the books a long time ago. In looking it up though, it is a shame that he wasn't included in the movies.
Oh well, I'm looking forward to hearing how the Aga works. My wife has wanted one for years.

The Q3 HD is good. The only issue is the included "Handyshare" software they include for PC/Mac. If you use it even to only edit the video for length (which is all I usually do) The video and audio will be out of sync when you upload to YouTube or whatever else. That means I have to edit on the camera itself, and I've lost a few really good takes because I pushed the wrong button at the right time. Really, three of the best tales I had got eaten because I had to edit on the camera. I'm hoping that Zoom issues a fix in a software update, but I'm not holding my breath. You still need VERY GOOD lighting (I dont care what anyone says) in order for the HD to be it's best. That's true with any camera though.
I did rate it on American Musical Supply's website. Easy to find if you want to read it.

Tom would have been very difficult to portray correctly and taken up too much valuable time needed for the main story to be told. Heck as it is the extended versions are 3, 3.5 and 4 hours long as it it. Jen and I have a LOTR day about twice a year, start to finish only stopping for food and other necessities and to be honest we wish they were longer. But most people don't feel this way. < grin >
Yeah same here about the AGA. Jen is like a little kid waiting for her birthday concerning the AGA. I'll try and take a couple of pics during the install and of the finished stove and post em.

Well, that's not good. Have you tried it with any other editing software? And, did that problem exist with the non-HD version?

Yikes. I think I've watched the whole thing twice. I couldn't do it in one sitting though.

The Ides of March
I was holding my breath until the Ides of March for the Forum to reform, and just 1 day later, lo and behold... it's finally here. Yeah!!!
My new Avatar is titled the Twisted Pair. I asked my wife if I could make them Triplets (using our tax refund), but she seems to have other ideas at the moment. Oh well, maybe next year! Hmm, maybe I can sneek that Zoom Q3HD in under her radar?
Glad to be back and to see so many of our old forum friends have returned. I looking forward to our continued chatter!

Nope. The SD versiom worked great. I'm sure it has more to do with YouTube than Zoom, but the Q3HD has been out for months and no software update from them as of yet. It's aggravating because editing on the camera is a easy way to completely loose the take. I havent tried any other software because I dont want to deal with more software. It's really a matter of working around it for now. Copy the files to my PC unedited, so I dont loose the take if I hit the wrong button while editing on the camera, edit on the camera and hope like hell I dont have to do it again. It seems everyone is aware of the software issue except Zoom. Or at least they havent addressed it yet. I'm sure it's affecting their sales. Who wants to deal with it when (I'm guessing) 90% of the people buying them are using them to upload music to youtube and related sites? I still would have bought it if I had known about the issue, I just wouldnt have lost so many good takes.
And Hey Harry! Great to see you here!
Re: New Member - Again.
Tele, isn't one of the main advantages of the Q3HD (vs the Q3 of old) is the ability to "input" an external audio source? Is that what you do, or do you just use its on-board mics? Seems like if you are using the on-board mics you should not have any editing problems.
And thanks for sending me the email about this new forum!
